Fabrication Overview
Container Workshop
Converting a 25’ box container from a box truck into a backyard workshop.
This project involves transforming a box container into a fully functional workshop space designed to house a paint booth, fabrication and assembly area, and a CNC router.
The process began with leveling the site and installing the container. The interior was gutted to allow for customization. A subfloor was created, and the interior was framed. Two sets of French doors were installed to improve accessibility and aesthetics.
Electrical work included digging a 50' trench, 18" deep, to run conduit to a 125-amp sub-panel. Electrical wiring, lights, and switches were installed, along with copper air lines for the air compressor. The interior was insulated, drywalled, mudded, painted, and finished with vinyl wood flooring.
Future plans include installing a vaulted roof, wood slat exterior, a wrap-around deck, a mini-split HVAC system, and completing the space for full functionality.
